Sustainability Part II

Our sustainable cocoa quality

Have you noticed?

The packaging of our Chuncho Drops is now decorated with a green organic logo.

Of course, this was just a formality for our young company, because the cocoa from our supplier Original Beans meets the highest standards.
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Typical start-up: It took us a while to get through this bureaucratic process of organic certification for our shop.

We have already mentioned several times that "organic" is not everything. We focus on sustainability and have the highest standards for our cocoa.
You will certainly have noticed: The media is full of reports about the rising world market price of cocoa, about the poor working and cultivation conditions in the countries of origin - not to mention child labor - and the poor forecast for the chocolate market.
These reports show us one thing very clearly: We are doing the right thing and are more than happy to have found a pioneer in sustainable cocoa trading in our supplier.

So what makes us so sure that we sell truly sustainable cocoa and can fully stand behind it? 🧐

Trust plays a very important role in cocoa trading, especially because of the many negative factors associated with it. After all, none of our team actually stands in the rainforest to harvest the cocoa beans themselves.
That's why it's incredibly important that there are ways and means to ensure that the cocoa we sell meets the highest standards imaginable.
Firstly, there is the organic certification itself.
It sets minimum standards 🔍 that are not even enough for us.
It is fantastic that we have found a partner in Original Beans who has the same standards as us.
This means we don’t have to make any compromises at any time.
What “more than organic” means becomes clearer when you take a look at the cocoa standard catalogue specially designed by our partner Original Beans. 🔍 throws.
This is signed by each cultivation partner.
Certification is the beginning.
Our farming partners not only follow prohibitions and commandments, but also become experts in completely organic farming. This ultimately enables them to save costs through the techniques they use. Ultimately, this means they have a better livelihood.
While you are reading this and sipping your cocoa, we are already thinking about what we will focus on in the next blog post… 🔎
